New User setup/Connecting to ATLAS
Resolution Steps
1. User will need access to a shared ATLAS user account and password. IT or manager for the department can share the user information.
2. From the start button, type in remote desktop connection (if it is not pinned).
3. Right click on the Remote Desktop Connection and click connect. (If it is automatically connecting to your personal session, then close the session and repeat the previous steps, except, instead of clicking connect, click on show options and uncheck "Allow me to save credentials"
4. If you see the ATLAS icon (globe) on the task bar, then you can click on it directly. However, if it is not visible click on the Windows start button
5. Click on the search icon (magnifying glass) and type in ATLA to find the ATLAS logon
6. Enter in the same credential as the windows log in and click the login button. (If you had Excel open, please close and re-open so the ATLAS is active)
7. You should see a notification pop up that shows AX linked to 2 services, which is Live and a non-prod environment such as Test.
8. Copy over your Excel file to the remote desktop. Always copy over files you will use, the files you find in the desktop may not be the latest files because there are multiple remote desktops.
9. When you open Excel, you should see an ATLAS ribbon
9a. Refresh button: Refreshes the ATLAS report. There are two options: Refresh will only update the selected worksheet. Refresh all will update all of the ATLAS report in the workbook. It is best to click refresh all.
9b. Upload button: Initiates the upload task pane. There are additional steps for uploads specific to the template.
9c. Show system names: ATLAS can refer to fields/tables using common or system names. Checking this will show fields in system names.
9d. Manage data sources: The template is either linked to Live or Test based on how it was last saved. If you are unsure which environment the report is linked to or need to change it, click on Manage data sources.
10. Perform your ATLAS task. Once you are done the task save and copy the file back to you desktop.
11. Close the remote desktop session.
